DUTIES OF THE REGISTER OF DEEDS OFFICE

The Register of Deeds Office is responsible for recording all transactions relating to real estate in Jackson County. This includes deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases, and platted additions to all cities in the county. The office also files financing statements and agreements on personal property under the uniform commercial code, federal and state tax liens, mechanics liens on personal property, corporation papers, powers of attorney, county school records, and military discharges. 

PLEASE NOTICE - EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2013

The Register of Deeds Office will no longer accept documents without a 2 inch by 4 inch blank space at the top of the first page of each document.

Also, we will no longer be able to email or fax copies unless payment is made in advance.
